Tell us about what you sell:
I sell lots of poetic, romantic and feminine accessories.Every piece offered in my etsy is completely hand-crafted. I make every item myself and, consequently, it cannot be found anywhere else. I like to think of my work as making “unique fashion for unique people”. My goal is to provide every single customer not only with a piece of accessory of the highest quality but also to offer them a truly personal experience. That is why for every individual piece I try to capture the beauty of the materials I use, their textures and colours, giving each product its own unique character.

Bridesmaid Necklace – $22.80

What is your favorite thing about creating?
My favorite thing about creating is the design itself .I love to have images flying around my head. Sometime I get inspired by something I have seen, such as a flower, other times it could come from music or a poem.

Where do you find your inspiration?
My inspiration comes from my fascinating travels to other countries, from nature and from music and all those elements together gives me a positive flow. I love eco-friendly designers and I have a genuine interest in environmental issues, this is the reason I started my Nespresso line.

Meet Ashley Rodgers from Drunk on Ink

Can you sum yourself up in 3 sentences? Give it a go!
Nothing makes me happier then getting into my own zone and being creative with different sorts of projects. I love trying new things and I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I love doing them. All the items in my etsy shop are handcrafted pieces of art, so no two items are identical, but that’s the beauty of it.

Tell us about what you sell:
I specialize in designing an assortment of gorgeous and unique alcohol ink products. You will find a very colorful variety of coasters, tiles, framed art, motivational and inspirational art pieces, as well as upcycled and repurposed jewelry. I am also in the process of adding a new line of trendy magnets. As time progresses I continue to branch out on new adventures in order to create fresh and new products.

Coaster Set – Alcohol Ink Coasters – $18

What is your favorite thing about creating?
COLOR COLOR COLOR!! When I sit down to create I never know how it’s going to end up. There are over 40 different colors in my creation box that I work with. Recently I have added several more colors; sometimes the colors alone can be overwhelming before I even start the project. But its the mystery of not knowing how it’s going to turn out that is the most fun. Currently I am a stay at home mom for my two beautiful daughters. (Ages 5 years and 15 months.) So what I call my “ME” time usually comes at night once my kids are in bed. That is when I am able to get in a “creative zone” and make my art. Luckily I have a work bench in our garage that has now been devoted to being my creative craft cave. Another part of creating that I enjoy is the learning opportunities that are presented. It’s always a high when you receive feedback from sellers and buyers.

Where do you find your inspiration?
Crafting and creating has always been a big part of who I am, and is something that I am passing along to my children. I grew up in a house with a mom that is very talented and always had some craft project going on. Matter of fact it is still that way, the only difference is now we can create together and bounce ideas off one another. It has become a real bonding time for not only my mom and I, but my daughter and I as well. She is always asking when she gets to head out to the craft cave to do some art. Another huge inspiration to my creativity is my emotions. I have to be in a carefree relaxing state of mind in order to properly create something that I love. Many times I will sit down to start a piece of art, then when I step back and view it I think of it as just OK. With a little more color and love being poured in it, it usually ends up being one of my favorite pieces of art.

Washer Necklace – Alcohol Ink Jewelry – $7

Do you have any advice for other sellers?

Creations of any sort come from the heart and have meaning behind them for each and every individual. You must have confidence in yourself and in the products you are selling. In order to make it worthwhile you have to believe in yourself. The first craft fair I did was very intimidating, but it was also a great learning experience. There was a blind vision on my part that I could hide in the corner and magically sell my art. But as many of you know that is far from how it works. It forced me to communicate with buyers as well as various sellers in order to get my products out there. When I began to see results there was a confidence about me that I wanted to share with the world. If you are able to connect yourself with craft fairs and galleries it’s something I would highly recommend to any artisan. Secondly, go into selling with realistic expectations. Most etsy sellers aren’t able to throw some items together, take a few pictures and make money. It takes patience and realistic goals. Success is not going to happen overnight.

Wine Glass – Handpainted Glasses – $10

Meet Anusha from PrasadDesigns

Can you sum yourself up in 3 sentences? Give it a go!
I grew up loving jewelry and fashion in general. My other interests include reading, traveling, and cooking. I am currently a college student who one day would like to start her own business.

Tell us about what you sell:
I design and create jewelry. I source my materials from shops and some pieces from India. I love being creative with my jewelry and using my imagination to create unique pieces. Etsy has helped me to set a shop up for myself and meet others who have the same passion as me!

Beautiful Bright Neon Woman’s Necklace Festive Multicolored Seedbeads with Clasp – $46

What is your favorite thing about creating?
Having my own Etsy shop has allowed me to be creative and learn new things. I love having responsibility and having my own store! I would love to one day have a successful shop and grow the business.

Pea Green Nature Bright Neon Emerald Wire Wrapped Bird Nest Necklace Pendant – $10

Where do you find your inspiration?
Most of my ideas just come to me naturally. Most of the time, they just come to me randomly. By observing other successful shops, I have come to realize what it takes to be a top seller. This has inspired me to work hard and be determined. By doing a lot of research and observing, I hope my shop can grow.

Do you have any advice for other sellers?
I still consider myself a beginner as my shop as I have not even been open for a year and I have only made a few sales so far. But one thing I have learned is to maintain a positive attitude. Don’t give up and work hard. Finding other outlets to promote the shop is key too.

Meen Erin from thesolarium

Can you sum yourself up in 3 sentences? Give it a go!
I’m a twenty-something year old who suffers an addiction to thrift stores – I sneak away to them like a kid stealing cookies when her mom isn’t looking. Halloween is a daily celebration for me. I work full-time at a used bookstore in addition to The Solarium.

Tell us about what you sell:
I design mostly one of a kind jewelry. I love the idea of one person falling in love with a piece and buying it, and there never again being an identical copy. I also have a sideline of handmade mourning jewelry, since while I see plenty of the antique mourning accessories, nobody really seems to actually make new designs. I sell vintage and antique jewelry as well to fill in the cracks.

garden quartz, hessonite garnet and sterling silver necklace

What is your favorite thing about creating?
I enjoy spreading out all my beads and pairing up different ones at a time to see what finally clicks into a new design. It can take days sometimes of tweaking wire and stones to get what I want but the results are always worth it.

Where do you find your inspiration?
I never create without listening to music. My stash of tunes includes everything from Bach to random movie and game soundtracks to Bauhaus and Rose of Avalanche. My favorite time periods are Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco and the 80s, so I take a lot of ideas from design details of those eras as well.

futuristic amethyst and carved bone earrings

Do you have any advice for other sellers?
Don’t be a copycat. It’s fine to be inspired by other people’s designs when you start out but in the long run nobody will feel compelled to buy anything from you if you design and advertise like everyone else. Find yourself a niche and exploit it to make your work memorable in others’ minds.

Can you sum yourself up in 3 Sentences? Give it a go!
I am a 25 year old teacher, dog owner, and student. I like making pretty things of all sorts, including jewelry, bookmarks, magnets, and miscellaneous things for the home. I have two pathetic puppy-mill rescue Pomeranians, and I have enjoyed watching them turn into “real dogs.”

Tell us about what you sell:
I sell primarily jewelry – beach glass and pearl. I also have some 1920s inspired pieces (I LOVE Downton Abbey, and history in general!). I am working on reposting a collection of magnets and bookmarks as well.

Red Freshwater Pearls on Leather Wrap – $58

What is your favorite thing about creating?

Basically, I just like making things. I like working with my hands, keeping busy while I listen to music or watch TV. I like giving my creations to others (Christmas is always a very exciting time!) or seeing them purchased through my Etsy shop.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I like to see what others have done and then put my own spin on it. I make what I like to wear, but I also make items I know my family or friends would like. I LOVE Pinterest and trying new projects.

Meet Jewelry Designer Rosa Linda Kilgore

Can you sum yourself up in 3 sentences? Give it a go!

Words that describe me: impatient, mercurial, willful, decadent.

Words that describe my work: raw, tactile, ancient.

Words that describe me working: messy, focused, obsessed.

megan 3

Tell us about what you sell:

Because I love the old, the battle scarred, the decrepit, I make and sell jewelry that is very textural and imperfect. At the same time, my work is made with fine materials adding to the juxtaposition of old and new.

What is your favorite thing about creating?

The feeling of release. I mean that in two ways. One is being forced to release my control and let the object become what it will. The other is the feeling of a release of an almost physical pressure once that object exists in the world. Without creating, that pressure builds until it is unbearable!

megan 2

Where do you find your inspiration?

An old rusty truck driving down the road. Anything I’m attracted to is inspirational. But, people inspire me most, I suppose. I grew up surrounded by women with fabulous style and I think that shaped what I find beautiful today.

Do you have any advice for other sellers?
I guess my advice would be to offer great customer service. After all, if it weren’t for the customers, this would just be a really expensive hobby, right?

Meet Nicola from nJoyArt

Can you sum yourself up in 3 sentences? Give it a go!
I am a stay at home mom who loves to paint. I started my career as a graphic designer, after many years at a desk, I left my job as an art director with a greeting card company to raise my daughters. Once I took up painting and began to sell on Etsy I realized that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Tell us about what you sell:
My art is bright and whimsical wall decor for the home. I paint a great deal of art for the baby nursery and children’s rooms.

3 LITTLE BUGS, Set of 5×7 Acrylic Canvas Art for Kids Rooms – $75

What is your favorite thing about creating?
I love it when my art finds a new home. Buyers often share stories with me about why the piece they purchased speaks to them, having a connection like that with a stranger is pretty remarkable.

Where do you find your inspiration?
Most of my inspiration comes from kids. They are so full of wonder and joy and I love to try and see the world through their brand new eyes. My best selling themed are You Are My Sunshine, which was inspired by my youngest. She sang that song CONSTANTLY one summer and I painted my first You Are My Sunshine piece because of her singing. My nephew loved anything on wheels – my first Transportation Collage was inspired by his love of things that go “Vrooooom!” I have painted around 20 transportation canvases since then :)
