Plugging Away

If you wait until you are more inspired or for the talent to come, you will only become less inspired and your initial talent will fade. The more you do something, the better you become at it, the faster you can complete it, and the easier it will become.

That first try at your new product line may not come out so well, or those first few blog posts might read as less entertaining than the back of a cereal box. But you’re DOING something, and you’re learning through experience. The more you do, the better you will become.

My simple and sweet recommendation: keep plugging away.

Megan, I totally agree with you. I only hesitate when it is a custom thing that I have never attempted before. Then I give myself a lot of “think” time. But with new techniques and new assemblies, you won’t know until you try. Dare to make a mistake! It might be one of your best creations!

I agree Sue. Learning through DOING is, ultimately, the best way.

Thomas Edison did not invent the light bulb on his first try. As he said “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” If he had given up……..
