Why I ♥ Seattle

My BFF Gipse is getting married this summer (one of those weddings I’ve been making crafty shyte for). As with all great weddings, a great bachelorette party must predecess the event. In honor of the occasion our group of fabulous ladies met up from our spread out locations in Washington and Oregon at the West side. What better a location than the glorious, wet, bustling city of Seattle.

Reasons why I ♥ Seattle:

Shopping. Shopping at the market and at cool variety shops selling everything from vintage clothing to Steampunk gear. I got me some sweet new [to me] pairs of rockin’ heels and a hippie dress to go with. It’s proably a good thing I don’t live there, as my wallet can only handle so much gloriousness.

Food. It’s no secret that seafood is my favorite type of food. I don’t mean I SEE food and eat food, but food that is generally harvested from a water habitat of some sort. I could be a vegetarian if it weren’t for this one, major weakness of mine. Seattle of course, being close to the Ocean and all, means the seafood is roughly a million times better than it is on my side of the state. Gotta love that freshness! Bring on the sushi, scallops, shrimp, fresh salmon, crab, lobster, and so on…

Coffee, coffee, everywhere. It is very hard to stand anywhere in downtown Seattle and not have AT LEAST one coffee shop within your line of vision. I got to practically hold a hot up of steaming salted caramel mocha in my hands at all times.

Between all of the art galleries, including the Seattle Art Museum, and the European Antique shops, Seattle is basically harboring porn for creative-types. So much artistic stimulation in one place, I’m surprised anyone was able to tear me away.

Now, none of this is to say that I condone my own city on the other side of the state. We definitely have better traffic here in Spokane, and the full-fledged 4 seasons are nice (even if Winter does tend to over stay his welcome.) But I do know it won’t be much longer before I can stand to go without Seattle, the city which has stolen my heart. ♥

Oh, yummm…… the CHOWDER! Had some seafood chowder, clam chowder, and crab chowder while I was there. Who could resist such deliciousness?!?

I can’t get enough of Seattle. I love the area and the weather. Pikes Place Market is the best along with walking around downtown. The artwork is so inspiring!

And I like Spokane, but I really love the Riverfront park and the old carousel.
