It’s Friday again, and even better, today is Friday the 13th! Superstitious people will be on the lookout for black cats and ladders, while the more new-agey types will be celebrating. One of my good friends is the latter, who chose this very day to have her wedding. (♥ Congrats Krystal & Dylan! ♥) I’m excited to be introducing you to Kit on this very special day, because she has a very special shop: RoyalKitness. Do check it out, because it is frikin’ AWESOME. Check out her interview below to find out more:
Sum yourself up in 3 sentences:
I am a young lady who’s very old at heart.
I’m a super organized person – except in my craft room!
Playing with polymer clay, creating things, and selling them to my wonderful customers is what I do for fun :)
Tell us about what you sell on Etsy:
Everything I can get my hands on to make ;-)
Specifically unique polymer clay / multimedia jewellery and housewares.
What is your favorite thing about creating
My polymer clay work always has a very unique style… It’s just what comes to me as I make it. My works tend to “evolve” during the creation, rather than follow a specific plan.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Usually in what I have. I’ll be inspired by a particular bead, colour clay / paint, or random destash item… and then I run with it and see what happens.
Do you have any selling tips or tricks for other Etsy sellers?
- A picture is worth a thousand words! Your pictures should make the buyer feel calm and confident in your professionalism.
- Tell your story! Include background info on the inspiration for your item, where you sourced the parts, what you enjoyed making, etc.
- Be nice! Engage with your customers. Give them every confidence that they are your number one priority! I like to include a surprise bonus gift and a hand written card with all my sales :)
