A “Just For Me” Treasury

So many treasuries so little time. I create a treasury usually every day. Some days I create several. There’s the work that goes into the treasury, and then there is even more work that goes into promoting it. It’s a lot of stinkin’ work. Not to mention all of the obligations. Because I am on several treasury teams, many require a certain number of treasuries every month featuring a certain number of members form the treasury team in each one that will “count.” One of the treasury teams I am a member of requires >>>>5<<<< treasuries a week with each one featuring at least 4 team member items. While others require just 1 a month with 4 to 8 member items, there is pressure to make a lot more than that, in order to ensure that I will be in their treasuries as well. So if I want to make a pretty blue treasury with butterflies, for example, then I try to fit as many team-member items as I can into that blue butterfly treasury from as many different teams as I can so that I can promote the same treasury within all of the teams to get the maximum amount of exposure, as well as fulfilling as many team requirements as I can with a single treasury. That's a lot of different factors to include, but it helps to eliminate so many choices, sometimes. Here is an example of a treasury I made this morning that fulfills a lot of team requirements: http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4d6beaa232bf6d91860563ef/a-regal-wedding-vintage-inspired

Sometimes I go complete opposite of the team treasuries and make Pounce treasuries in an effort to promote and share new sellers and discover what they have to offer. These can be way harder to promote than the team treasuries in order to get them noticed. A lot of the time the new sellers are unaware of the requirements that make a treasury "hot," so they'll thank me via convo but not leave a comment on the treasury itself, and forget to click or share it with others. This means that i have to spend a lot of time promoting the treasury in the chat room, appropriate forums, Facebook, Twitter, etc., just to try to get it more exposure than only having the featured artists seeing it. Like I said, a lot of work.

Whew. Once in awhile I jut want to make a treasury that features items I think are pretty and that’s it. You know? I don’t wan tot spend time promoting it or anything else, just making a treasury for a treasury’s sake and let that be the end of it. For once, I felt like making a treasury that i didn’t feel obligated to share all over the internet or fight all day long to try to get it to the top of page 1 via hotness level. Just a treasury. A pretty treasury with things that I like. Maybe some other people will stumble upon it and like it to. If that’s the case, so be it. This treasury wasn’t about promotion or networking, or teams, or new sellers. It’s just a treasury for the sake of a treasury. And you know what? It feels good.
