Then, I renewed like crazy. Okay, maybe not too crazy, but still a lot more than I normally do. i started off the the morning renewing one item every 15 minutes, from the back of my store forward, then I switched to every half an hour, and then every hour until the end of the afternoon at 4:00 o’clock. i had to stoop then, because dammit, it was my birthday and I had plans to go out. ;-)
My results? about $11.00 in Etsy fees and 1 sale. the thing is though, the sale was an item I did not renew during my renewing frenzy, so I don’t know for sure if the renewing helped to bring the customer into my shop or not. And the sale was for 1 $16.00 necklace, so the profit margin was significantly slimmed.I think my conclusion at this point is to focus more on adding more items, and less at desperately trying to stay on top of the Jewelry heap, which is close to impossible to do anyway. Perhaps, when I have 570 items in my shop, and not just 70, there will be more renewing that needs to be done anyway, as items expire, that sticking my 20 cents in the renewing slot machine won’t feel so much like a gamble.
